Youth Alliance (GNESYA)

Welcome to the Glasgow North East Strategic Youth Alliance

The Alliance is a partnership of agencies supporting young people in the north east of Glasgow, incorporating the planning areas which encompass the wards of

  • Springburn,
  • East Centre;
  • Shettleston,
  • Ballieston,
  • North East,
  • Calton.

The Alliance is supported by a strategic steering group composed of representatives from the North and East Voluntary Sector Networks; Glasgow Life; Glasgow Regeneration Agency; John Wheatley College; North Glasgow College; GHA; the CHP and supported by the Partnership & Development Support Team.

The strategic steering group responds to priorities identified by Glasgow City Council's Community Planning Partnerships.

Agencies supporting young people in the north east of Glasgow have adopted & Hubs' an operational and planning structure based on the learning communities which make up the area, based around the following secondary schools:

  • Bannerman;
  • Eastbank/St Andrews;
  • Lochend;
  • Smithycroft;
  • Springburn/St Roch's/All Saints; and
  • Whitehill/St Mungo's.

You can use these pages to search for agencies providing support to young people in your neighbourhood, ward or 'Hub', and there is also a link to secure forums for staff in the youth work agencies to use to support collaboration.

Calling all young people! Lend us your imagination!

Answer the survey and help us design a healthy weight service for 16-18 year olds!

Currently there is Active Children Eating Smart(ACES) and Active Choices for those aged under sixteens, but we would like to know what you think about a service for older teenagers and what it would look like.

What should the message be? What would encourage you to attend? Where should you go to access it? Can you bring a friend? Can you bring your family?

Give us all your ideas - design it so it works best for you!

Survey to design a healthy weight service!
