East End Youth Café is open

The former Shielings public house on Shettleston Road is now a place where young people can meet friends, take part in interesting activities and receive support and advice on issues that concern them.

Open activities

Drop-In youth sessions 12-18 years

Sunday, Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday & Friday:
5-8pm.

Drop in youth sessions P5-P7

Sunday, Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday & Friday: 3-5pm.

Drop in IT sessions for adults (16+)

Monday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday: 1-3pm

IT suite / Learning Centre

The IT suite is linked to John Wheatley College and provides 14 internet ready pc’s for all kinds of informal learning activity, keeping in touch with friends, studying, etc. 

Venue space

The venue space is hosting local young bands and can be used for dance events, with up and coming DJ’s – and also has pool and fussball tables.

Cafe´

The Cafe´, drop-in area, is complete with soft drinks bar, access to Playstation 3, Xbox360 and Wii for young people to wind down and hang out with their friends.

Staff

The Project Manager is Marie Cooke - Donna Sanderson is Administrator - Debbie Aitken is our P/T Youth Worker.

Rhonwen, Gemma,  Nick, John, Denize, Bex, Garry, Allan, Gerry, Alison, Robbie, Caroline and Andy are our sessional Youth Workers -and Bob, David, Matt, Peter, Elaine, Brian are Fuse Volunteers - as is Liz McNeil who generously provides support with our accounts.
