Let me introduce other organisations who we cooperate with regarding Provan Hall:
Bishop’s Wood Area Committee.
John Wheatley College and Greater Easterhouse Development Company assist Land Services to train horticulture apprentices. This involves manage the development of pathways and bridal paths across the Estate. The estate covers Hogganfield Loch and Bird Sanctuary, the community woodlands at Craigend and Cardowan, including Bishop’s Loch and the SSSI and open ground up to city boundary near Drumpellier. Blairtummoch House is also part of the Estate, which is being restored by the Greater Easterhouse Development Company(GEDC). Here we have a model for the management of heritage, land and water within Greater Easterhouse. Look at the range of collaborative working in the context of culture, leisure and health, conservation and bio diversity, our environment has to be protected within the community.
Glasgow Building Preservation Trust commissioned to examine restoration of the Buildings of the Hall and Blochairn House and the Gardens, in partnership with Glasgow City Council Land services Parks.
They are planning a heritage and interpretation centre as part of provision of services for visitors and the local community.
GEAC is based in the community designed complex, the Bridge, in Easterhouse. GEAC is a community based arts groups working with Glasgow City Council Culture and Leisure Services. Traditional music groups visual and performing arts form the core of life in our communities
Supporting and taking an interest in developing local facilities and community assets. Amongst other things giving access to IT including website development.
NTS is the owner of the buildings and the land, up to the boundary of Auchinlea Park and the FORT shopping park.
Danny Dobbie of Visual Statement is now housed in the Bridge but continues to engage with Provan Hall at Doors Open Day and other activities.
