Background

The Community Health Shop has been situated in Barlanark since 1999 and has developed its services over this period of time. The project was initially set up to complement the GP surgery that was in Barlanark after residents fought to have a doctors in the area. However, the GP's moved on and the project remained.

Aim

When the Community Health Shop was established, the aim was delivering community based health services to local people in the east end of Glasgow.  CHS has developed its operation to cover all of the communities located within the North East Community Health Partnership. The project is open to residents in the East End of Glasgow, but operates an appointment system that will require clients to register prior to being put on our waiting list.
