Your Member of the Scottish Youth Parliament:
David Stewart
David Stewart is one of the two recently elected Members of Scottish Youth Parliament for Glasgow Shettleston Constituency, which covers areas of Bridgeton, Calton, Dalmarnock, Barrowfield, Dennistoun, Carmyle, Sandyhills, Tollcross, Parkhead, Mount Vernon, Carmyle and Cranhill.
In the election in May 2011 to SYP there was four candidates standing for the area and David Stewart and John Kennedy were elected to represent the area in the Scottish Youth Parliament.
Scottish Youth Parliament (SYP)
The Scottish Youth Parliament is the elected voice of Scotland’s young people. This is the young people’s parliament;
- designed by young people,
- led by young people,
- for the benefit of young people.
The members of the SYP are committed to ensuring that young people heard by the decision makers of Scotland and determined to campaign on the issues which matter most to Scotland’s youth.
