Fuse Youth Café seeks new manager
Fuse is a safe and fun place in Shettleston where young people can drop in as suits them, and where they feel welcome and supported once there. Fuse has achieved a great deal over the last two years and offers a range of activities for young people. The activities helps young people to learn, build confidence and gain self esteem, but there’s still a way to go to to meet the needs of its members and those yet to come along and join.
Fuse Youth Café Glasgow is looking for a new manager to lead the team and future developments, initially for a period of six months, but with a view to securing funding and extending the operation into the future. The Fuse Board is looking for a new manager who is enthusiastic, with lots of creative ideas and experienced working with young people, to further develop Fuse.
Liz McNeil, who chairs the Fuse Board, describes the challenge as:
“an exciting opportunity for someone with a background in leading youth work operations who’s up for the challenge of securing funding and further developing the Fuse operation into the future. We’ve done well in the last couple of years, and are now looking for a dynamic, creative leader to develop Fuse and secure continued funding for 2012 and beyond. This is a chief executive role, providing the opportunity to develop the strategy as well as manage the operations of the organisation. Working closely with the Board, staff, young people and partner organisations you’ll be challenged to build upon what’s already been achieved to meet the needs of young people in the future”.
Fuse works in partnership with John Wheatley College to deliver learning services to young people, and with other agencies to deliver its mission.
