This summers read - at the Bridge and other local libraries
Summertime means it’s time to kick back with a good book or two. Choose from the Tesco Bank Summer Read collection available within your local library and tell us which one is your favourite! Titles include fiction and non-fiction, adult, teens, kids, Scots and Gaelic so there is bound to be a favourite for everyone!
20 titles, all scottish, are available at the library
Library @ the Bridge and other local libraries are proud to support the new Tesco Bank Summer Read initiative to promote reading and new Scottish books.
The Summer Read shortlist is made up of twenty titles, all of which are either set in Scotland or written by Scottish authors: there’s thrillers, short stories, poetry, a graphic novel, books for children, autobiographies by both a comedian and a footballer – truly something for everyone.
Special events at libraries
All of the shortlisted books are available to borrow from your local library. Look out for special events taking place in public libraries around the country, as well as special features on the shortlisted authors in The Herald.
Vote for your favourite - Win an eReader
You can vote for your favourite at www.heraldscotland.com/go/tesco-summer-read-2010. The closing date for the public vote is 31 August 2010, after which the winning author(s) will be announced at a special closing event.
One lucky voter will win a top of the range Sony eReader. 
Borrow the books at your local library
All of the shortlisted books are available to borrow from your local library. Look out for special events taking place in public libraries around the country, as well as special features on the shortlisted authors in The Herald.
