Placement Opportunities for 16 to 25 years old
New opportunities are now available for young people aged 16-25 yrs old to volunteer within their communities. There are 6 positions available for 13 weeks.
You will get:
- £55 per week
- Training and work experience
- Mentor support
Wellhouse Community Trust, Provanhall Community Trust and Easthall Residents Association are working with Project Scotland to provide opportunities in:
Sports Coaching
Based within ‘hubSports’ facility in Wellhouse and developing activities in the multi-purpose court within ‘the Connie’ Provanhall you will assist in the developing of sports activities, learn about health & safety in a sports environment, gain sports qualifications, support and develop new sports activities for the community.
Youth Work
Based between Innerzone in Wellhouse, Glenburn Centre in Easthall and the Connie in Provanhall, you will be a key part in the development and running of youth activities within the areas.
Working with young people aged 6-11 yrs old you will develop educational, fun and social activities for the young people.
Working with experienced senior youth workers you will gain day-to-day knowledge of youth work services, planning and organisational skills, child protection training and much more….
Administration
Based within ‘the hub’ in Wellhouse and ‘The Connie’ in Provanhall you will support staff in:
- the monitoring of activities,
- recording of data,
- scheduling meetings and activities,
- marketing and promotion
- general administration duties such as filing, letter writing,
- minutes of meetings.
Catering
Based within ‘the hub’ in Wellhouse. You will gain food hygiene qualifications and be trained in food preparation. Working within the hub café, 4 days per week and the lunch club this position involves developing the café menu, customer service, service of a 3-course lunch per week, preparation and service of buffets and functions.
