Eat Up - Help with Healthy Eating
Do you find information about healthy eating confusing?
Then, why not come to an Eat Up group?
Eat Up was launched in April 2008 and is a new healthy eating programme which has been developed by the Community Dietetic Service and the Health Improvement Team (Acute Services) to assist the general adult population to make improvements to their diet.
A six week programme
Each programme will consist of 6 weekly group sessions of approximately 1 hour duration and will cover:
- Goal setting and motivation
- Key healthy eating messages
- Cookery demonstration – practical tips on how to reduce sugar, fat and salt when preparing meals
- Food labeling
- Shopping tour – planning meals, budgeting and shopping wisely
- Carbohydrates
- Eating out and alcohol
The programme is free of charge and open to all, over 16 years of age.
Where and when?
Free sessions in community venues
Eat Up sessions are held in a range of community venues. They are open to at a variety of times through the day and evening so you can find one that suits you.
Barlanark Community Health Shop
Hallhill Rd.
Thursday mornings; 10.30am - 11.30am. Start 30/10.
Tollcross Youth Centre
Tollcross Rd
Monday nights; 7pm - 8pm. Start 17/11.
Tuesday afternoons; 2pm - 3pm. Start 28/11.
Sessions are delivered by the Community Dietetic Service with support from the Dietetic Assistant who has been trained to a suitable standard by the Community Dieticians.
