People living and working in Glasgow East can take advantage of the many informal and formal learning opportunities in the area.
Glasgow East Learning Network
Informal learning opportunities are available throughout the Greater Easterhouse Learning Network.
The learning network consists of community learning centres distributed throughout Glasgow East.
Glasgow East Learning Network gives you:
- free public access to the internet
- e-mail services
- online conferencing
- access to online learning
and support staff who can help you at your level.
Learning Centres
There are a number of community organisations with learning centres that are arranging courses in a lot of different subjects, like IT, street dancing and childcare. Some are in partnership withGlasgow East Learning Network.

Youth Access Project
There are also specific sessions in learning centres for young people through the Youth Access Project.

Eastend Connected
Eastend connected is a partner learning network servicing the area. It has been created to improve community access to information technology across the East End.
At present, the learning network is located within a range of community based premises across the East End.
The community based, high-speed ICT network enables local residents to make use of free on-line learning facilities to develop skills that will help them compete more effectively in the labour market. The facilities also provide free drop-in sessions for local people to use the computers at their leisure.
