Platform to Health
Marking the 65th Anniversary of the NHS, Platform to Health puts creative activity at the heart of health and wellbeing in Glasgow North East thanks to a £47k Creative Scotland Award
Local charity, Glasgow East Arts Company, benefits from a £47K award from Creative Scotland’s Public Engagement fund to support Platform to Health, a new project that mobilises arts and creativity to improve self-esteem, wellbeing and social interaction.
In partnership with the local Community Health Partnership, Platform to Health takes place in an area of Glasgow feeling the complex effects of an industrial heritage long gone and one that is consistently listed in the Social Index of Multiple Deprivation.
The project targets groups less likely to participate in mainstream activity like those on the recovery spectrum or with mental health problems and those with less ability to participate such as socially isolated older people.
